| Marine natural products are chemicals from marine organisms such as Prialt, a pain reliever from the hunting venom of cone shell. Marine natural product research relates to the chemistry, biochemistry, chemical-ecology of marine derived compounds or the ecosystem from which they are obtained. This sub-sessionis composed of chemical-ecological studies on marine ecosystem; biochemical studies, including biosynthesis and pharmacology; the isolation, structure elucidation, of novel bioactive marine natural products from small organic compounds to large proteinaceous molecules and chemical synthesis of marine derived compounds; utilization of marine derived compounds. |
