| 3e. Molecular interaction between fish pathogens and host aquatic animals |
| Health of aquatic animals is important not only to the biological well being of the organisms but also to food sustainability in the case of cultured species. Aquatic animal health concerns are mostly related to pathogens and their interaction with their host. Host-pathogen interaction can be better understood at the molecular level. This in turn is important in developing effective means to properly manage aquatic animal health. This sub-session focuses on recent molecular studies on pathogens including viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites of aquatic organisms and their interactions. |
