2a. Aquatic pathogenic microorganisms
There are many pathogenic bacteria and viruses of aquatic organisms, which often cause damage to aquaculture production. To minimize the negative effects of aquatic pathogens to animals it is necessary to understand the basic biology of pathogens. Development of pathogen control measures will require a better understanding of the infection mechanism and the characteristics of pathogens concerned. Therefore, this sub-session focuses on the understanding of characteristics and biology of aquatic pathogens and their effect on various fish species.
