This tour is cancelled when the number of participants fails to reach 10 persons. The maximum number of participants would be limited up to 40 because of capacity of a vehicle.
Tour Highlights:
National Research Institute of Fisheries Science (NRIFS): NRIFS belonging to the Fisheries Research Agency (FRA), an incorporated administrative agency, is locating in Yokohama city. The Institute conducts a wide range of research and development activities on fisheries from basic research to practical purpose.

PR2: Mt.Fuji Hakone 1 day Tour

Tour Highlights:
Mt.Fuji 5th station : Mt.Fuji is a symbol for Japan and it is world famous for its beautiful shape. The Fifth Station, Mt.Fuji’s highest point accessible by motor vehicle. Situated above a sea of clouds, the Fifth Station is called “the boundary between heaven and earth.”
Cruise on Lake Ashi : Enjoy a relaxing sightseeing boat on Lake Ashi, a view of mountain and refreshing breeze.

Program Highlights:
Enjoy a hands-on experience of Japanese culture at Pacifico Yokohama where the conference is ongoing!  There are four kinds of attractions; shodo (calligraphy) (Oct. 21, PM), tea ceremony (Oct. 21, PM), origami (paper craft) (Oct.23, AM & PM) and Japanese flower arrangement (Oct. 23, AM & PM). Not only accompanying persons but also participants of the meeting are welcome. Number of participants for each performance is limited up to about 20. Thus pre-registration is asked.  If there is vacancy, registration on the day of performances may be possible.  Please feel free to visit attraction sites.

Sumo Museum: The museum underlines the role of Sumo as the Japanese national sport through collecting and maintaining artifacts and supports historical studies. Facilities include more than 150 square meters of exhibition space, a library, a study and over 160 additional square meters of storage space for artifacts not on display.
Edo-Tokyo Museum: The Edo-Tokyo Museum shows how the 15th-century village of Edo grew to be Tokyo, one of the largest cities in the world. The museum, established in 1993, recounts this story of remarkable growth through life-size replicas and detailed scale models. There is a life-size reconstruction of the Kabuki Theater, and reconstructions of Edo Castle and Nihombashi Bridge.
Sensoji Temple in Asakusa: Sensoji is the oldest and most impressive temple in Tokyo. The main hall was first built in 645 to house a tiny golden statue of Kannon, the goddess of mercy, that had been repeatedly hauled up in fishing nets despite being thrown back into the river. The temple precincts bustle with people praying, buying fortunes, shopping or sightseeing.
Imperial East Garden: This is where you'll find what's left of the central keep of old Edo Castle (the stone foundation).Take a stroll in one of the vast inner gardens of the Imperial Palace.

Tour Highlights:
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine: Founded at its present location by Yoritomo Minamoto in 1180, it remains one of the most popular shrines in the Kanto region. The present buildings date from 1828. The main hall at the top of the stairs affords a magnificent view of Kamakura along Wakamiya Oji street.
Daibutsu or The Great Image of Buddha: Designated a National Treasure, it is Japan’s largest Buddhist image after Todai-ji’s in Nara. The present statue is the second at the site. The original image, carved from wood in 1243, was destroyed by a storm five years later. The present sculpture was cast in bronze around 1252.

Tour Highlights:
Owakudani Valley: The Owakudani Ropeway joins Togendai, on the northern shore of Lake Ashi, and Mt. Soun. The highest point is 130 meters above the ground between Mt. Soun and Owakudani. At Owakudani Station a revolving observation platform affords a panoramic view of the Hakone district and a near by view of Owakudani Valley, where sulfurous steam escapes from fissures in the rock.
Lake Ashi: Excursion boats give cruises around beautiful Lake Ashi, a crater lake with a circumference of nearly 18 kilometers. Lake Ashi is also well known for the inverted reflection of Mt. Fuji on a calm, clear day.

Kabuki: Kabuki is a traditional Japanese form of theater with its origins in 15 century. Kabuki was the popular culture of the townspeople and not of the higher social classes.
Kabukiza Theather: Kabuki Theather is known for the stylization of its drama and for the elaborate make-up worn by its performers. It is possible to rent English headphones.

Tour Highlights:
Yamashita Park: This park commands a romantic view of the Bay Bridge and ships passing through the port. There are many monuments showing international cultural exchange such as "The Girl with Red Shoes Statue", "Indian Water Fountain, " and "Water Guardian Statue, "a gift donated by San Diego, USA.
Yokohama Doll’s Museum: Starting with a collection of 3,149 dolls from 92 countries, the collection has been enriched over the years and now stands at 12,926 dolls from 140 countries (As of March 31, 2004). There are many historically valuable dolls.
Silk Museum: One of the rare silk museums in the world. Exhibits the process of silk production from silkworms to clothes as well as Japanese historical silk clothing.
AP8: Japanese Garden & Shopping

Tour Highlights:
Sankei-en Garden: Sankei-en is a stroll--type garden full of masterpieces of architecture. Hara Tomitaro, a silk merchant, created the garden in the image of the Nara countryside. He opened the garden to the public in 1906. Sankei-en evolved as Hara scoured ancient capitals for buildings.
Motomachi Shopping Street: Located in proximity to China town on the other side of the O-oka River, this street is a shopper’s paradise in Yokohama and is lined with many chic and fashionable clothing shops, interior goods stores, accessory shops, famous restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries.

AP9: Experience Zen Meditation & the Zen of Shojin Cuisine

Tour Highlights:
Soji-ji temple: Soji-ji temple is the main temple of Buddhism's Soto sect located in Yokohama, and heads the roughly 15,000 temples throughout Japan with a devout following totaling 12 million people. In spite of its distinguished position as a leader of the Soto sect, Soji-ji broadly preaches the mind and spirit of Zen to all interested souls. It is a popular meditation service attended by many participants from overseas.
Shojin cuisine: Shojin cuisine was introduced to Japan, along with Buddhism, from China, almost 1,500 years ago. One of the five precepts of the religion is Fusessho (Thou shalt not kill), so monks and believers naturally shun killing animals for food. Though shojin cuisine appears simple, its taste trumps any expensive gourmet meal--and it's all accomplished using only the natural flavors of the freshest of vegetables, which are delicately seasoned.
AP10: Yokohama Gourmet Night Tour

Chinatown: Chinatown in Yokohama is Japan's largest with roughly 200 restaurants and 18 million annual visitors. The Chinese first settled in the area in the 1860s, not long after Yokohama was opened to trade with Western nations in 1859.

Invitation to Takamatsu, Kagawa prefecture for the inspection of Ado Ike, the birthplace of aquaculture in the world and “ Shurinzu”, the oldest colored fish book and the trip to Naoshima Island.
Ado Ike: Ado Ike is a lagoon faced to Harima Nada in the eastern part of Kagawa Prefecture with the area of 30 ha and the water depth is 5~10m.
The most of fish culture are carried out with big fish culture cages in Hiketa Bay off shore area of Ado Ike, and Ado Ike is used as fishpond for the amusement spot.
Shurinzu: Shurinzu, which contains 723 elaborated color drawing of fishes and marine invertebrates, was made by the order of the 5th Lord of Takamatsu Yoritaka Matsudaira, in the middle of 18th Century.
“Shurinzu” is one the most valuable culture properties of Kagawa Pref. and usually closed to inspection. On the occasion of 5th World Fisheries Conference, it will be opened to participants of WFC in Kagawa Historical Museum in Takamatsu.
Naoshima Island: Naoshima Island is a small island, located in the north of Takamatsu with 3500 population. In Naoshima, there are two world famous museums, Bennesse Modern Art Museum and Chichu Museum.
PC3: Kyoto 2 days
Date: Oct. 25 (Sat) - Oct. 26 (Sun)
Fare: JPY62,000 per person (single occupancy / lunch included for the first day)
JPY58,000 per person (double occupancy / lunch included for the first day)
Tour Highlights:
DAY1: Yokohama – Shin-Yokohama – Kyoto
Transfer to Shin-Yokohama station and board a Shinkansen (super express bullet train) for Kyoto. Afternoon tour in Kyoto, visits to Heian-Jingu Shrine, Sanjusangen-Do Temple, and Kiyomizu-Dera Temple. Transfer to a hotel in Kyoto.
DAY2: Kyoto
Morning sightseeing in the city, visiting Nijo-Jyo Castle, Golden Pavilion. The tour disbands at the Kyoto Station around noon.
